I am a dancer. I have identified as a dancer since I was three years old. There has not been anything else that I would rather be or do. A little over sixteen years ago I was a tiny toddler who discovered and took to the love and gift of dance as if it was birthright. Every fiber in my being told me to dance, and it still does today. Dancing gave me light and a path to follow. I dance to bring meaning, to bring beauty, to bring possibility, and to bring hope to not only those around me, but to the world. Dance brings people together, it fills them with joy, lets them release sadness, and allows them to celebrate life. I dance because it makes me who I am, it makes me whole, and when I am whole, I am a better person overall.
